The Jiayu S3+ or Plus, is not unique or new and basically a reboot of last years S3 series. Interestingly, the Jiayu lineup has really been quite as of late, there are no new phones coming out, no new innovations or anything. If you are familiar with the Jiayu S3, then the S3 Plus is the same thing, but with only slight changes. A major portion is the Chipset, instead of MT6752, the S3 plus packs the MT6753. Although performance difference is only negligible, even though sometimes the former chipset performs better.
Design and Other Notable Features
The design remains the same, a candy bar appearance and a plastic removable rear cover. Underneath, bares a decent size 3000mAh battery, the Sim Card Slots and the TF Card Slot. The phone also comes with built in NFC (Near Field Communication) and Dual 5GHz WiFi. The phone also shows a 5.5 inch, IPS, 1080p or FHD Display. Same with the Standard version, the phone has a distinctive bluish tint on its screen, a flaw i’ve seen with the S3 lineups.
Speaking of the camera, the phone comes through with a fairly decent 13 MP Sony IMX214 camera, it also features PDAF (Phase Detection AutoFocus) with LED Flash. Image quality was rather satisfactory especially with good lighting. The flash does help on low light situation but it still is noisy. But overall, camera quality is decent.
Reboot and nothing else
If you are a fan of Jiayu, then you are probably familiar with the S3 Plus, it is a bit old school but it’s still offers notable features you commonly see on most Mid-Tier Smartphones today. It is basically a reboot, so you don’t see newer features like USB type C or Fingerprint Sensor on it. Probably the biggest selling point is the price, the affordable pricing makes it even more appealing to average consumers.
